How many lessons will it take to get up and riding?
Our most frequently-asked question! This really varies by individual, but if you have never taken a kiteboarding lesson before, we recommend going with 4 lessons - 1 Beginner Lesson & 3 Water Lessons, our Beginner Lesson Package. The first lesson gets you familiar with the fundamentals of flying and controlling a powerful 4-line inflatable kite and the other 3 lessons progress you in the water to body-dragging, board-starts, consistent rides, and staying upwind. This is the way to start if you are committed to learning to kiteboard and becoming an independent kiteboarder. You can always add more lessons.
I'm a windsurfer and I know the wind. How long will it take me to learn to kiteboard?
You have a great fundamental and important advantage when learning kiteboarding - you understand the wind, you're comfortable in choppy, variable wind & water conditions, and you're used to lots of gear! However, the motions and muscle-memory adapted in windsurfing are very different from those of kiteboarding, so often we find many windsurfers face some unique challenges when learning to kiteboard. That said, all individuals vary and we recommend the same lesson program as those who have never windsurfed before -- see above.
What if there's no wind / too windy for my lesson?
We are usually able to re-schedule you within a day or two to make up for your lesson with no wind or too much wind (yes, this can be a problems sometimes). If that doesn't work with your schedule, you receive full credit for the lesson and can use it anytime Cascade is open during the current and next kiteboarding season!
What is your Credit / Refund Policy?
We happily issue 100% credit for unused lessons. Lesson credits are transferable and can be used up to the following summer season! If you would prefer a refund instead, we can issue you a refund for the amount of your lesson minus a $15 processing fee.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
- Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to your lesson without charge.
- Cancellations made 24-48 hours prior to lesson will incur a $50 fee to the lesson total.
- Cancellations made the same day as lesson will incur a $100 fee from the lesson total.
- No-shows cost the lesson, so make sure you can come or call to cancel 2 days in advance!
